02The business in one line

What does Medtronic do?

Hospitals, surgery centers and doctors in more than 150 countries pay Medtronic for medical devices; most of the money goes on making and selling them, and what is left is profit.

  • Medtronic kept $13.1 of every $100 that came in during FY2026 as net income, or $4.8 billion. It split off its Diabetes business, now a separate company called MiniMed, on Oct 15, 2026.
