Of every $100 that came in (revenue plus other income), this is where it went.

Reddit · FY2025

Receipt for every $100

Where $100 of Reddit's money went in FY2025
Research and development$34.2
Sales and marketing$22.0
General and administrative$12.2

Total$100

Each line = amount ÷ total money in × 100. Lines may not add to exactly $100 because of rounding.

How this is worked out

Cityfort calculation from FY2025 10-K. Of every $100 that came in during FY2025 (revenue $2,202.5 million + other income $86.7 million = $2,289.2 million). Each line = line ÷ total money in × 100. Costs are grouped by function as Reddit reports them, so stock-based pay sits inside each line. Income tax was a $1.0 million benefit, about $0.05, so it has no line. Net income was $23.1 per $100 that came in. Measured on revenue alone, operating income was $20.07 per $100 and net income $24.05.

Reliance on search engines

Reddit relies on search engines such as Google for visitors. Its Q3 FY2026 10-Q says third-party search changes caused declines in referral traffic and hurt daily user growth that quarter.

17Where growth could come from

Where could Reddit's growth come from?

In its Q3 FY2026 earnings release (Oct 29, 2026) Reddit estimated Q4 FY2026 revenue of $1,000–1,030 million. Its letter to shareholders that day said search traffic fell by more than 1 million referrals a week on average during October. It added: "If this rate of decline continues, current trends would suggest that total DAUqs could fall in Q4, by a low-double-digit percentage." That is measured from a base of 130 million daily users.

Who owns Reddit?

Steven Huffman could vote approximately 75% of Reddit's voting power on Sep 30, 2026, mostly through proxies over shares he does not own. The 12 officers and directors held 3.5% of Class A, 97.1% of Class B and 76.3% of votes in the proxy table of Mar 31, 2026. Reddit can use the NYSE's "controlled company" exemptions and says it does not currently expect to. Class C has no votes, and none is issued. Baillie Gifford (4.9%, filed Oct 21, 2026) and FMR (2.3%, filed Apr 7, 2026) reported holdings under 5%. The Vanguard Group reported none after an internal realignment (filed Mar 27, 2026). Cityfort publishes general educational content that explains how listed companies work. Cityfort is not registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission or any state securities regulator as an investment adviser, and is not a broker-dealer or a member of FINRA. Cityfort does not provide investment, tax or legal advice, recommendations, ratings, price targets or any opinion on whether to buy, sell or hold any security. Nothing on the site is tailored to any person's circumstances.

All information is taken from publicly available sources, mainly company filings with the SEC, which are listed on each page with dates. We work to keep it accurate and correct errors publicly, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, accurate or up to date. Any market price or price-based ratio shown is dated, may be out of date by the time you read it, and is included only to explain concepts.

Statements by company management, including forward-looking statements and guidance, are reported as the company's statements, with their date and source; they are not our forecasts. Adjusted (non-GAAP) figures are the company's own measures and are shown next to the official (GAAP) figures.
